Meet the Director General/CEO

Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor assumed office as the 4th Director General/CEO of NESREA on May 20th, 2024.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political and Administrative Studies from the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Rivers State. He also earned a Master of Science Degree in Political Science (International Relations) and a Doctorate Degree in Political Science (with emphasis on development studies) from the same institution.

Prior to his appointment, Dr. Barikor was a lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT). He is a renowned researcher with numerous studies and publications to his credit.
He is a: Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Resource Management; a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), and the Winner of the 2000/2001 Small Grants for Dissertation/Thesis of the Association of African Universities, Accra, Ghana.

Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor is a two-time member of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
