NESREA is enforcing the National Environmental (Protection of Endangered Species in International Trade) Regulation
The Wildlife Conservation Society continued its capacity building workshop for NESREA staff at the Cross River State Field Office of the Agency. The training was part of the project on ‘Tackling Illegal Wildlife Trafficking in the Nigeria – Cameroon Green Corridor.’ The project, which is supported by the Biodiversity Challenge Funds is to create awareness of the dangers of wildlife trafficking and strengthen inter-agency collaboration in tackling the problem.
Nigeria is a signatory to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). In line with the convention, NESREA is enforcing the National Environmental (Protection of Endangered Species in International Trade) Regulation.
