The Vehicular and Generator Emission Control Programmes developed by the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency, NESREA are designed to sanitize the environment in the country.
So says the Director General of NESREA, Dr Lawrence Chidi Anukam who spoke when he received Post Graduate Students from the Strathmore University Kenya at the headquarters of the Agency in Abuja.

He said, “Our programme on emission control is what we are doing to see how we can provide some sanity. This is backed by law. We have our regulation on that and we are going to monitor and make sure that every vehicle that is operating must follow the rules”.
The DG added that, “We have different types of generators, different shapes and sizes, different ages. If you put them on here, you will prefer you don’t have them because of the noise. So there must be a control.”
The students led by their lecturer, Mr. Mohammed Ruwange said they were in NESREA to learn more on environmental laws.
