NESREA ENGAGES YOUTH ON ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
The Director General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency, NESREA, Professor Aliyu Jauro has called on the youth to be more involved in efforts to protect the environment.
The DG made the call when he received a delegation of the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) at the headquarters of the Agency in Abuja. Prof. Jauro used the occasion to emphasize the importance of Environmental Sensitization and Awareness and called on the NYCN to become part of the NESREA Green Corps which is primarily created for awareness creation.
He reminded them that problems such as flooding, drought and desertification were very common in the Northern part of the country, hence the need for sensitization.
He applauded the group for their achievements in promoting peaceful coexistence, rehabilitation of drug abuse victims and also provision of aid to Internally Displaced Persons.
The leader of the delegation, Barrister Farouk Mohammed. Presented certificates of credence and that of confirmation as the Wakilin Matasar Arewa Najeria/ Icon of Nation Building to the Director General.
